some news

A bit of news that Mama wants me to share with everyone. I now have tooth #9! She found it this morning when I bit her finger because I wanted to eat what she was eating. Mama thinks that I'll have 10 teeth by the time I turn one. Although she thinks it would be cooler if I had 12 teeth at 12 months.

Also, we started celebrating my birthday around here. Mama didn't want to start my birthWEEK (I don't understand what it really is, but Mama says it's important) until next Thursday when I get my very first haircut, but Ninong Albert sent me a birthday package in the mail and we got it today. I can tell that this birthday thing is going to be a big deal if people are already sending me stuff.

ashes, dust, dirt...

Mama and I had a very long morning, and I passed out in the car on the way home. First, we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond because Mama said she needed to get a few things for the house. We grabbed a quick bite to eat at Atlanta Bread Company. She said we would need it because we wouldn't get to eat until after 1 pm with all the things we were doing. We finally made it to church just before 11 am so I could play with my friends for a little while before Ash Wednesday mass. Mama said we had to go to church today because it is the beginning of Lent. I watched them put stuff that looked like dirt on Mama's forehead, then they put a little on mine too. I don't know what that was all about, but Mama promised that I will understand when I get older. So here's a picture of me passed out in the car after all that excitement. You can even see a little bit of that stuff on my forehead.

in a week

Mama says that in a week, I will have a new hairstyle. She says that it's out of control and doesn't even want to try to fix it because it will be a mess in less than 2 seconds. I have an appointment to have my first hair cut next week, just in time for my 1st birthWEEK!

eleven is heaven

I am 11 months old today! Mama says it is getting harder and harder to do our monthly photo shoots in her papasan chair because I move too much. She tried, but couldn't get a good one of me. So she strapped me into my booster seat so I couldn't move.

i'm baaaack

I'm back. I've been MIA for awhile because I've been sick, but I'm mostly better now. Nothing exciting to report. I got another tooth and have been taking a couple steps at a time by myself, but that's it.

ten

YAY! I'm 10 months old today!
Also, I want to thank Aunt Tabby and Uncle Kirk for my new musical mirror. It's so much fun! And mama and dad love how much noise it doesn't make. HAHA!

we're still talking about christmas

This will be the last post about my Christmas vacation. Besides opening lots of presents, I did a lot of other stuff...

I took naps with Tita Nikki.

I tried to talk Lolo into giving me his shirt, but couldn't.

Climbed the stairs a billion times with dad.

Played on the computer.

I got to take a bath in Lola's kitchen sink, and enjoyed it so much....

... that I convinced dad to start giving me baths in our kitchen sink.

Now, we're home and I'm playing with all my new stuff.

christmas goodness

A little video of me playing with my Christmas gift from Lolo and Lola. Mama and dad had to deflate it to get in the car. They finally inflated it again and put it in my room at home. More pictures to come later in the week.

2008 in review!

2008 has been a busy year for me. It all started while I was still in mama's tummy. We rang in the new year in Sanibel at Tita Joy and Uncle Jaret's wedding. Fun times. Mama danced and danced and danced - making me even more excited to enter the world.

Mama and dad welcomed me into the world on March 11, 2008.

Lola spent my entire first month with mama, dad, and me in Alabama. Her sisters from California joined her soon after.

April was a busy month. Lola went back home to Florida. Tita Missy and Tita Nikki came to see me for the first time, and dad had to leave us for a few days for a business meeting. As for me, I was staying awake more during the day and enjoyed looking at the things around me.

In May, Mama celebrated her first Mother's Day. On the very same day, I turned 2 months old. Mama bought me this mirror in June when I discovered my reflection. Dad also celebrated his first Father's Day.

I took my very first airplane ride in July. We travelled to Florida to visit mama's family. I met Lolo and Great-Lola for the first time, and was baptized into the Catholic Church. Lots of other firsts happened - like my first dip in a swimming pool.

I met my friend, Hunter, for the first time in August when we took my first road trip to Nashville, where mama had a meeting. Also in August, I started to sit up without anyone's help and enjoyed watching the 2008 Summer Olympics. And to dad's delight, I said my first word. Dada.

I celebrated my half birthday in September. This was also the beginning of the college football season. This is when I learned that I was going to have to like football.

October was an exciting month. I got my first 4 teeth and started crawling. I also got to go trick or treating with my friend Claire.

November came, and the weather got cooler. I voted in the Presidential Election with mama and dad. I went to my very first bonfire in Hartselle. I started pulling up to stand and cruising. And my friend, Ian, entered the world.

I celebrated my very first Christmas in Florida. We took a long road trip to visit mama's family again. It was fun ripping up the wrapping paper. Also this month, I got 2 more teeth, which brings my total number of teeth to 6.

All in all, 2008 was a fun and exciting year. I hope 2009 is just as exciting. It should be... mama's Florida Gators should become National Champions again next week. Happy New Year!
