go gators!

It's great to be a Florida Gator!!! But it's not so great to be a Tennessee Vol. I went with mom to Indigo Joe's yesterday afternoon to watch the game. This is how I felt by the end of the first quarter.
The game was so not interesting. Lots of bad calls for both teams, but Florida was led the entire game.

I woke up by halftime - just in time for the door prizes. I won this cool Gator piggy bank. Mom's friends helped start a college fund for me by putting some money in it for me at the game yesterday.
Notice how mom conveniently hid my Tennessee shirt during the game with my Gator bib from Mr. Ron and Miss Cecelia. We went home and watched the beginning of the Auburn-LSU game, as well as the UGA-ASU game. Mom and I were asleep by halftime of the Auburn game. We were exhausted from our long day.

happy half birthday!

Yesterday was my half birthday. Uncle Kirk and Aunt Tabby came over and had cake to help me celebrate. It was fun. Mom is convinced that my teeth are coming in soon because I am congested again.

i have learned

I am 6 months old today. In my 6 months of life, I have learned lots of things. Including:

I may look chubby in this picture, but I the shirt says it all.

And if Lola says no, then ask Lolo. If they say no, then I should ask Tita Missy or Tita Nikki. Maybe I could ask Ninong Ren or Ninong Albert if my Tita's both say no!

Special thanks to Tita Missy and Tita Nikki for the outfits!!!

it's great to be...

a Volunteer

Gator?!?!

I am one confused SEC fan. SEC football officially kicks off tonight with South Carolina playing North Carolina State or something like that. Mom and dad both have high hopes for their teams this upcoming season. The Gators invited Hawaii to the Swamp for their first game. And UT will be traveling to UCLA on Monday for their game. Maybe I'll see some of you at Indigo Joe's on Saturday for mom's game.

what a life...

It's been a busy week in our house lately. Dad started school on Monday so he has been able to spend more time with me in the mornings and in the afternoons after his classes. It's been fun. Mom has been busy taking me to play groups and other Mom-type stuff in the area. I think it's her goal to join every club in the area. Who knows? But I have some new friends, like Josh and Clare and Manny and Caleb. All this playing makes me tired.

I have also been staying up to watch the Olympics with mom. I was so nervous watching Michael Phelps compete for his 7th gold medal that I had to chew on Fred's hand. Mom cut my nails that day so I couldn't chew on my own hand.
Since I have been sitting up really well, mom let me start playing with the John Deere tractor that Lola Em and Lola Meds bought for me. I like to use the steering wheel to pull up and try to stand.
Lastly, mom and dad have been letting me try their food. Staring works. I have been staring at them when they eat anything and lunging for their drinks. So I have had pieces of dinner rolls, chicken and whatever else they let me try. Dad even let me have a little of his sweet tea out of his cup. Well, this afternoon, I got to try a little bit of salsa. It was actually good.

life is great

I am 5 months old today! How exciting?
It only took 5 months, but I can now sit up without mom or dad's help for a few minutes.
I'm excited about the Olympics... go Michael Phelps!
Mom caved. Dad said that I needed a mobile that attached to my crib and plays music. I got one this weekend. It has all kinds of different animals on it.
Dad starts school again in a week, and mom starts teaching her class in two weeks. Plus, mom and I are busy watching all the Olympic events and college football season starts almost immediately following the end of the 08 Games in China. With our busy schedule, I will only be able to update once a week. Go Team USA!

my buddy

This past weekend, mom, dad and I drove to Nashville for the weekend so that mom could go to an alumni meeting. Dad and I spent the majority of Saturday together, which mom says was a good thing since he doesn't get to spend that much time with me. This was my home away from home - the hotel made sure we had a crib in the room so I had somewhere to sleep.

We went Mr. Ward's house Saturday night for dinner. He is dad's old college roommate and he has a son that is only a month old than I am. He is already a good friend of mine. Mom and Miss Jennifer were trying to take my picture with Hunter, but I did not feel like sitting in a chair at that time. I started crying and Hunter tried to pet my tummy and my back to try and calm me down.

the thumb is so last century

If you want to be cool and hip, I'm starting the newest trend - trying to put my whole fist in my mouth.
Mom and I have been busy lately. She was supposed to go meet the breakfast bunch a couple weeks ago, but couldn't go because I had a fever after I got my 4-month shots. That Saturday, we drove to Copperhill (dad's hometown) so I could meet my greatgrandma. She came over to grandma's house to see me for a few minutes. When we got back, mom spent the next few days doing all our laundry and taking a trip to Babies R Us. She said they had a class she wanted to take.

I went to my first Gator event on Wednesday, but it was getting close to my bedtime so mom and I had to leave early. It was fun, though. It's great to be a Florida Gator. Mr. Ron said that there are only 30 something days until the start of college football. I went with mom to AT&T to pick out a new phone on Thursday. She blames me for her other phone not working. It broke sometime on Tuesday so she went without a phone for a couple days, which she said was not too big of a deal since nobody really calls her except Lola and Titas.

Lately, mom has been finding me like this in my crib when I wake up in the mornings. Mom and dad usually put me in there so I am laying straight, but I move too much and wake up in different directions.
We are going to be in Nashville this weekend because mom has some sort of meeting. Dad and I are probably going to hang out with Ward and my buddy, Hunter.

i wanna go back

"Mom, I want to go back to Florida! I miss Lolo and Lola and Tita Ninang and Ninang Tita Leling and Great Lola."
